In most cases, bad habits are to blame for the abnormal formation of teeth, e.g.: finger sucking. In some cases, orthodontic treatment may be necessary to preserve the health of our teeth and jawbones. In addition to aesthetic defects, crowded, irregularly developing teeth are prone to caries and its associated diseases, and can cause speech problems. In some cases, orthodontic treatment started in early childhood is unavoidable.
It is a good idea to visit our practice before you change your teeth. If treatment is started at a young age, we can correct the deviations with oral gymnastics and removable orthodontic appliances. It is important to know that the development of the jawbones can be significantly influenced even at this stage! Once the permanent dentition has formed, in many cases the blockage cannot be removed without removing teeth.
It is recommended that removable appliances are thoroughly cleaned once a day with a toothbrush or disinfected with a cleaning tablet. When not in use, it is recommended to store the braces in a suitable box.
It is also possible to regulate teeth in adulthood. A fixed appliance is needed to restore the alignment of the teeth. Before the braces are fitted, a personalised treatment plan is made for each patient. Orthodontics can move migrated teeth into place or prepare the space for dentures.
Proper oral care is relevant for fixed appliances. Oral care should include the use of special toothbrushes developed for people who use braces. You should also use a toothbrush and floss that are suitable for cleaning your teeth.
Orthodontic treatments are carried out in cooperation with Dentland Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology Centre, where the preparatory processes are carried out in our practice and the treatment is completed in the practice of our partner dentistry.
