Ankylosing spondylitis (ankyloglossia) – There can be several degrees. It can make it difficult to speak and eat. It is treated with a simple operation.
Oral symptoms of childhood infectious diseases:
- Chickenpox (varicella): small, barely noticeable blisters may appear on the soft palate, tongue, lips and mucous membranes of the cheeks at the same time as blisters all over the body.
- Scarlet fever: A childhood disease that becomes epidemic in the winter months. The tongue is characteristically “raspberry tongue”: the tip and edges of the tongue are red, while the back of the tongue is covered with a white plaque in which the swollen papillae are reddened.
- Herpes simplex: blistering inflammation, most often occurs at the interface of the skin and mucous membranes (lips). It can be triggered by various factors: fever, nervousness, excessive sun exposure, etc.
